No. You get a flat rate for the job, agreed before any work starts, so there is no separate call-out charge and no hourly meter running while we work.
Anything actively causing damage or leaving you without water, heat or a working toilet: burst pipes, major leaks, a dead boiler in winter or a blocked soil stack. If you are not sure, call and we will tell you honestly.
Out-of-hours work is priced differently, but you are told the fixed figure before we set off or before we start. There is never a surcharge that only appears on the invoice afterwards.
Turn off the stopcock, usually under the kitchen sink, then switch off the electrics if water is near them. Call us and we will talk you through it. Getting the water off in the first minute limits the damage more than anything else.
